Substance Use Resources

As part of the 2018/19 PSP workplan, the Provincial Office is working with clinical advisors to design a series of flexible learning units designed to ups kill physicians in their encounters with patients struggling with Substance Use disorders.

While we are busy working on this series, there are several resources available which we recommend for physicians and teams and would help to support an immediate practice need, or satisfy the desire to get a head start on the topic. One such partner we’ve identified is the BC Centre for Substance Use (BCCSU).

We hope to have several units within the Substance Use series available within the coming year, which will be released on the Exchange as they become available and will complement the existing resources from other parties.

The design of flexible learning units fits within the evolution of the PSP, allowing for more accessible and dynamic learning for physicians and their practice teams.

The BC Centre for Substance Use (BCCSU) is dedicated to strengthening addiction medicine education activities across disciplines, academic institutions, and health authorities, and training the next generation of interdisciplinary leaders in addiction medicine. This includes accessible online learning tools and resources, and a fellowship training.
